Meet the Farming Family
Farming isn't just growing food. Its growing community and fellowship!
"He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate- bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts." Psalm 104:14-15
Our Story
As a first-generation farmer that has a rich legacy from farming family members I understand the importance of agricultural heritage. It is more than just a family tradition - it's a way of life and a legacy of stewardship. It's a way of honoring the land, caring for the animals, and providing nourishing food for our community. By honoring the knowledge that was passed down to us through the generations we can increase our knowledge, skills, and innovations to pass along to future generations. Our legacy of farming traditions matter! Ensuring that farms and farmers continue to thrive for generations to come is a passion worthy of our lifetime and dedication.

Our shared agricultural heritage is essential to our farm for sure, but it also vital for building strong, resilient communities and farmers. By sharing our knowledge and skills with others as we are able, we can help to build a tribe of farmers, educators, and community members who are committed to sustainable agriculture and the preservation of our agricultural heritage. Often it's little things like learning how to bake bread from your Grandma, raise chickens from your neighbor, or learning to preserve food from a friend. But these are life skills that are desperately needed in todays society. Slow down, enjoy a meal with your own family, and appreciate the legacy of farmers that came before us that allowed us to be here today!

At Plow and Plate we are honored to be a part of the agricultural legacy of our family and our community. We are committed to passing down our knowledge, skills, and values to future generations. By purchasing our food you share that belief that family farming traditions are important and you are committed to protecting our cultural heritage and the sustainability and security of our food system.

Thank you for your support!
